Serco Sodexo to Pay Redundancy Entitlements

SSDS has today advised United Voice it will withdraw the Federal Court appeals it had lodged against United Voice’s wins in the Fair Work Commission confirming SSDS members entitlement to full redundancy pay. Members can expect to receive payments to their bank accounts in the next fortnight. SSDS will also provide members a statement outlining how their redundancy payment has been calculated. A small amount of interest will also be payable on the payments, which have now been delayed for over six months.

Members who have changed banking details since working with SSDS you should contact United Voice asap.

United Voice congratulates members on their win, and in particular the many United Voice members who appeared as witnesses in the Fair Work Commission cases last year. Without their help this case would not have been won – those people should feel very proud today! The United Voice witnesses plus one other from the Fire Brigade Employee’s Union were the only union witnesses to appear in the case.

United Voice anticipates signing a consent order today or tomorrow agreeing to the SSDS application to formally withdraw their appeals in the Federal Court.
