Serco’s attempts to change United Voice members’ superannuation funds have been defeated.
In January Serco sent out a notice stating that a new commercial superannuation fund would be the default fund - but United Voice members weren’t taking that lying down.
Following several delegate meetings and frank exchanges with the company, Serco has now written to United Voice confirming that it will not make any changes to the super fund of employees covered by your Enterprise Agreement.
Without strong action from United Voice, Serco would have gotten away with meddling with your super. Changing your fund could have reduced your earnings and cost you more in fees. Australian Super is the default fund guaranteed by the EA. United Voice members won this right to ensure that they couldn’t be ripped off by a dodgy fund chosen by Serco.
